Jones
County Flood Update
Posted 18 June 2008
Many roads in Jones County remain closed due to flooding, or flood
damage. This includes some paved roads as well as gravel roads.
Remember the slogan, “ Turn Around, Don’t Drown,” as there could be
unseen dangers, such as debris or a washed out roadway.
Property Damage
If you have damage to your house from the storms (flooding, seepage,
wind damage, etc.) beginning June 8, 2008, please contact the Jones
County Assessor’s Office at 319-462-2671. Please give them your name,
contact number, address and damage information and you will be
contacted by Jones County Emergency Management. If you can, take
pictures of the damage for documentation purposes.
Wells and Septic Systems
If you have a private well or septic system that was covered in flood
water, contact Jones County Environmental Services at 319-462-4715.
